HortiMaX wins 2nd geothermal energy contract

Dutch installation contractor Montera Techniek B.V.  (a subsidiary of HortiMaX) has been awarded a contract by tomato producer Gebr. Duijvestijn, based in the Dutch town of Pijnacker, to install all of the necessary electrics and additional pipework, and modify and upgrade its MultiMa computer for a geothermal energy system. This contract is directly related to another geothermal energy project that began earlier this year in Pijnacker. As with that project, HortiMaX and Montera Techniek (as part of Essent Local Energy Solutions) will play an important role in supplying and fitting the necessary glasshouse technology for the geothermal energy system at Gebr. Duivestijn.

The entire area between the office and buffer tank on Gebr. Duivestijn’s premises has now been transformed into a drill site with all of the accompanying facilities. Over the past few weeks, tremendous effort was put into meeting all of the deadlines. This was exhausting work since it involved laying heavy cable protection pipes or arm-thick cables to the boreholes. The next phase of the preparations is now underway and consists of transporting the boring machine and other materials from the location of the first geothermal energy project –  where the wells have been completed and approved – to the Gebr. Duivestijn's premises.
